Japanese style Buffalo Wings with Yogurt Sauce

One of my favorite dishes is Buffalo Wings. I discovered them when I was in college, in upstate New York, and I often enjoyed them. With my Japanese background, I decided to make a Japanese version of Buffalo Wings. My chicken wings are baked, so they have fewer calories than regular Buffalo Wings, and the soy sauce based coating gives them an Asian twist. I have also created an original yogurt dip that is a perfect match for them!

Prep. : 15 minutes
Cook : 45 minutes

Makes 15 pieces

(For the Wings)
15 chicken wings
1 tbsp olive oil
1/8 tsp kosher salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp white wine vinegar
1 tbsp Frank's Red Hot Sauce
½ tbsp ketchup
½ tsp honey
5-6 dashes Tabasco sauce (adjust for spiciness)

(For the dip)
1 tbsp plain yogurt
1 tbsp heavy cream
1/8 tsp kosher salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
¼ tsp chopped fresh parsley

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Place the wings with skin side up on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper. Drizzle them with olive oil and sprinkle salt and pepper. Bake them for about 45 minutes until meat is cooked through and the skin is golden brown.
Meanwhile, whisk together the soy sauce, vinegar, red hot sauce, ketchup, honey, and Tabasco in a large bowl.
Remove the wings from the oven and transfer to the bowl and toss with the sauce mixture.
For the dip, whisk together the yogurt, heavy cream, salt, and pepper in small bowl. Sprinkle with parsley.
Serve wings warm with yogurt dip cool.

I like your website. I plan to cook your Japanese Buffalo Wings. I am using my new personal laptop named "Pumpkin."

Thank you for your comments! Glad to hear from you. Let me know how it goes when you cook these wings : )

I made the Buffalo Wings. They were delicious. I doubled the amount of chicken and quadrupled the amount of sauces. I couldn't find plain yogurt so I used vanilla. We'll have the leftovers for a football game.

Thank you for the comment again! Makes me very happy :)
Glad to hear that you made these wings too!
How was sauce with vanilla yogurt? I will try that next time. Thanks again.
