Sweet and savory is always great combination, especially between cheese and fruit. Here are cute pastry hors d'oeuvre that can contain such pairs. They are buttery, creamy, with a light sweet tartness and would be a good marriage for a white wine.

Makes 36 pastries
Ingredients
1 puff pastry sheet
1 egg, beaten
Filling pair recommendations:
Goat cheese and dried cranberries
Brie cheese and apples
Cream cheese and smoked salmon
Feta cheese and olives
Blue cheese and pears
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut pastry into 36 pieces. (Sprinkle some flour on working place if needed.) Place filling combination (such as ½ tsp goat cheese and 4 to 5 pieces of dried cranberries) on pieces. Pinch and seal the dough up and over the filling. Repeat with others. Brush the tops with egg wash. Bake about 20 minutes, until golden.
Remove from the oven and cool slightly.
Serve warm or room temperature.
